Position: 

Technical director.

Duties: 

Leading company’s technical department. Company expansion planning. Telephone service cards platform management and control, VoIP node management, PSTN telephony sector development.

Activities: 

Created and implemented projects for expansion of the companies' telehouse node, including VoIP and PSTN parts. Managed equipment reordering for further redundancy and scaling support. Created from scratch 24x7 technical support department that consists currently of 5 first line operators and 2 engineers. Managed PSTN and Internet services supply to «Vekovaya» business centre aggregating 70 subscribers. Main project outlines are optical fibre cable installation for 2 kilometers with further BPON (622Mbps) network integration. Provided assistance to Klass & Co CJSC partner carrier with telco node setup, testing and putting into commercial operation. Within this project assisted to austrian engineers with SIP to H.323 protocol conversion and seamless integration into Tetracom voice network. Negotiated service supply details and interconnected with major operators, like Cable & Wireless, TeliaSonera International Carrier, EDN Sovintel, MCI, Teleglobe (ITXC Corp. division) and others. Provided and integrated telephony and network access solution for Tupolev Plaza business centre, including company’s office. Created Point of Presence projects for London/United Kingdom, Dushanbe/Republic of Tadjikistan and Baku/Azerbaijan.

» TEXNOPROSISTEM LTD. 2000 – 03

Position: 

ISP Senior System Administrator.

Duties: 

Hardware, software and network maintenance, doing necessary upgrades. Billing system maintenance and writing extensions to it. Overall network security control and security politics development. Network expansion planning and design. Marketing and advertisement planning. New servers/services design, configuration and integration into existing network.

Activities: 

Joined provider at its early stage. Redesigned overall network to address scalability and security issues. Automated network monitoring and management, deployed various additional services to the network, including NTP, SNMP and IRC. Built firewalls at every part of network from scratch using Linux iptables and Cisco ACLs. Developed Pyramid universal billing system. Currently C-written generic version works on commercial basis at the ISP. Primary design of it made together with Dennis Sukhovey, technical director of TEXNOPROSISTEM and Maxim Emm, consulting and projects department manager, InfoSec Company. Migrated servers' software from plain Linux to RSBAC-based distribution, developed and applied security rule sets for each server. Handled other day-to-day activities, usual to ISPs.

» DAEWOO TELECOM LTD. 1994 – 99

Position: 

Telecommunications engineer.

Duties: 

PSTN digital switches installation, setup and maintenance.

Activities: 

At the beginning was in charge of switching systems’ hardware installation, including switch itself, MDF, DDF and cabling; power supply hardware installation, including inverters, batteries and diesel generators (1995 – 97). Several years later moved to software department and configured switches’ software according to network and numbering plan, putting overall network into operation (1997 – 99). Also participated in network design and implementation (1997 – 99). Lead team of engineers in 1997 in Almalyk town (Tashkent province). Below follows detailed list of projects I’ve participated in:

Digital PSTN switching systems (time division multiplexed). Channel associated signaling (R1/1.5, R2 compelled/semi-compelled/non-compelled), common channel signalling (SS7, etc.). Over 10 years experience with UNIX operating systems (Sun Solaris 2.5.1/2.6/7/8, SCO OpenServer 3/5, FreeBSD, Linux). Various communications equipment setup and maintenance, including Cisco Systems (routers: 26xx, 36xx, 37xx, 72xx; access servers: 53xx, 54xx, 58xx), Livingston (access servers) and other companies’ WAN access devices. Excellent knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP protocols suite. Various network services setup and maintenance, including bind, postfix, CMU and UCD SNMP agents, NTP and IRC servers, Apache + various modules, RADIUS, WU-ftpd/proftpd, squid and others. Ability to troubleshoot and assemble near any computer hardware (x86/UltraSPARC/Cisco/others). LAN and WAN design. Writing programs in C programming language at intermediate level. SQL databases design, programming and administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle). Web art and sites design. Microsoft software office productivity suites and operating systems knowledge.
